All religions teach only good. All rivers flow into the sea. There are many ways to a city. Some people argue that you can go any way.
The argument that all religions teach only good is a weak argument.
One religion says that all human beings are equal by birth. No one can be superior to another by birth.
Another religion says that a person born in a particular caste is superior and a person born in another caste is inferior. How can both be said to be good?
One religion says that everyone should learn the Vedas! Another religion says that only one person should learn it; if others learn it, lead should be poured into their ears. How can these two contradictory things be good?
One religion says that everyone is equal before the law. If a person who is superior by caste commits a mistake, a light punishment should be given, and if a person who is inferior by caste commits the same crime, a severe punishment should be given. Are both of these good?
One religion teaches that marriage, marriage, ghosts, and devils should be offered to religious priests. Another religion says that all forms of priesthood should be abolished. How can both of these be good?
One religion does not discriminate between people in approaching God. Another religion says that the lower castes should not approach the shrine of God.
One religion says that a man with weaknesses such as eating, drinking, defecating, defecating, lust, and anger can never become a god or have the nature of a god. Another religion says that a man can be made a god and his fellow man should fall at his feet.
* A widow cannot marry;
* Women have no property rights;
* The husband is the god who has seen the eyes; a woman who has lost her husband must take up the brother's yoke;
* One religion says that a woman can marry without her consent.
* Another religion says the opposite of all these.
One religion says that God is one; He is unnecessary; He has no mother or father; He has no wife or children; He does not sleep; He does not rest. Another religion says the opposite of all these.
One religion strongly opposes all the evils that affect society such as adultery, homosexuality, gambling, theft, drug abuse, and bribery. Another religion tries to justify these evils by saying that the gods themselves have done them.
One cannot bear the sins of another. One religion says that each person is responsible for what he has done. Another religion says that only one person can bear the sins of all.
One religion says that God is one. Another religion says that there are three Gods and many gods.
Thousands of contradictions like these! How can intelligent people accept that all these contradictory things are good?
It is true that all rivers merge into the sea. Rivers have no intelligence. The sea they join has no intelligence. Sewers have no shame in merging into the sea. The sea has no knowledge to realize it.
Are humans like rivers that lack intelligence and the ability to think?
We humans have intelligence. The God to whom we are going to join has more knowledge than we do.
God will not accept sewers as the sea accepts sewers.
Shouldn't a person who uses intelligence apply knowledge to the choice of principles in matters of what to eat? What to drink? What to wear? What to bathe in? What is the justification for comparing himself with rivers that lack intelligence and consciousness and degrading himself?
There can be many ways to a city. No one with intelligence can deny this. Here, the issue is not only which way to choose. The important issue is which city to go to. If you think of a town in the north and go towards a town in the south, you will not reach the town you have imagined.
Can a man who wants to go to the towns of equality, reason, honesty, morality, and peace travel to the towns of untouchability, superstition, injustice, immorality, and chaos? If he travels, can he reach the desired towns?
If all religions preach the same law, the same basic principle in different words, then it can be said that there are many paths to one town. How can it be said that there is one town when the principle, law, and principle are different?
