Do Angels Attend Religious Gatherings?
Introduction
Many speakers and scholars circulate clips (videos) claiming that angels attended the gatherings where religious speeches are being given, Islamic messages delivered etc. This sparks Questions among some people:
Do angels really attended the Islamic Gatherings?
Is it possible for us to see the Angels when they attend religious gatherings?
What do the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah teach about Angels?
Do angels pray for those who remained in the mosque sitting in awaiting the prayer time?
Islam obliges us to believe in Angels as a matter of faith, in the existence and role of Angels in Islam. As angels are part of Ghaib (the unseen world), we believe in them through what the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) conveyed about their affairs without being able to see them generally.
Can we see the Angels?
Yes, angels are among the creations of the Unseen world, human beings have been deprived from the ability to see them in their actual shape and form. Thus, the idea that angels attend a particular function so everyone must see them as a sign is incorrect and unrealistic. We believe in their presence and all their activities on basis of Revelation and authentic Sunnah.
Do angels attend the Gatherings?
Yes, in Islamic tradition there are clear evidences from authentic Hadiths proving that angels do attend certain places and functions/gatherings, for instance the prophet Muhammad (PBUH) inform us that angels pray for the person who remains in the mosque to Pray the prayer.

In Sahih-ul-Bukhari, it’s narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (PBUH) said:
"Anyone performing his Wudu’ perfectly and then goes to the mosque with the intention of praying the ( congregational ) prayer, will be counted as if he is performing the prayer. If he stays in the mosque without doing anything to waste the time then the Angels (including the attendant Angels of his prayer) supplicate for him and say, "O Allah! Forgive him and be Merciful to him."
This continued as he remains in his prayer place. No Foul act is committed by him. Such person receives great reward from God.

Angelsgather atFajr and Asr Prayers
AnOtherHadith explains that angels go to the mosque in rotation to protect humans both day and night. “The prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Angels visit you at night and day. These Angels gather for two prayers and when the Muslims praying the Asr prayer finish, the Angels ascend to Heaven. Then angels come during the night to protect those who spend the night between them. When morning comes, these latter angels also ascend to Heaven. God asks them: ‘In what state did you leave my servants?’ Their answer would be: ‘They were in a state of prayer when we left them.’”

This clearly establishes the angels' presence, engagement and prayer for the Ummah at specific times of congregation.
What about speeches or Religious discourse or gatherings of that nature?
We must be clear about what the authentic Hadith has testified. Yes, angels gather at specific places and pray for the faithful. As for the claim made that angels attend every speech or gathering of lectures, we do not have evidence inauthentic Hadiths of Islam for such claim. You should not give weight or attribute information which have no evidences or that you cannot verify, instead always ask.
So, when anyone tells you that angels attended the speech you attended in the mosque or in another venue, ask:
Do you have a strong Islamic proof?
For as we mentioned above angels attend specific function in regards of prayer. However, we need authentic proofs when it comes to making claim on the unseen, so one MUST ensure such Hadiths or claim ARE authentic before you share it as your own or attributing that to Islam and the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) .
Always Remember: Belief in the Unseen: As a Muslims, believing in Angels and the unseen is part of the Imaan ( Faith). So Whether you see them or not. It do not deny their existence.
Don’t claim any thing about the Unseen which are not from Allah through his Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him).
The best wisdom is to Stick to that which was authentically reported and avoid talking or making baseless claims regarding the unseen.
