Some religious scholars claim that one can subjugate Jinns by reciting the chapter 'Al-Jinn' (The Jinn) continuously for 40 days.
Just as there is a chapter named 'Al-Jinn', the Quran contains chapters named after the Elephant, the Ant, the Bee, the Spider, the Cow, Man, and Women.
Can one subjugate these creatures simply by reciting those chapters? That chapter was named 'Al-Jinn' because it speaks about Jinns, not because reciting it allows one to subjugate them.
Jinns are a creation endowed with intellect—like humans—and possess greater strength than humans. How could a species with less strength subjugate a race that possesses both intellect and superior strength?
Allah subjugated the Jinn for Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon). Allah mentions this as a unique privilege. From this, we understand that no one else can subjugate Jinns.
"We subjected the wind to Sulaiman; its morning journey covered a month's distance, and its evening journey covered a month's distance. We made a spring of molten copper flow for him. There were Jinns who worked for him by the command of his Lord; and whoever among them deviated from Our command, We would make him taste the punishment of the Blazing Fire. They fashioned for him whatever he desired—instruments of war, sculptures, basins like reservoirs, and immovable cooking vessels. We said, 'O family of Dawud (David), work in gratitude! Few of My servants are truly grateful.'"
Holy Quran 34:12, 13
The Jinns submitted to Prophet Sulaiman only because God specifically commanded that they would be cast into Hell if they did not obey him. God issued no such command to the Jinns regarding submission to anyone else. Thus, this was a unique privilege granted by God to Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon). Generally, no human being can ever subjugate or control the Jinn.
Do not be deceived if anyone tries to mislead you by claiming to have subjugated the Jinn.
Challenge them to demonstrate this by using Jinn to travel from one country to another instead of using an airplane. Let those who claim to control Jinn demonstrate their power by having them construct a palace; the Holy Quran states that Jinn performed such feats.
"(Sulaiman) asked, 'O chiefs! Which of you can bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?' An Ifrit (a powerful Jinn) said, 'I will bring it to you before you rise from your place; I am trustworthy and strong.'"
Holy Quran 27:38, 39
"We reached out to the heavens and found them filled with stern guards and shooting stars. We used to sit in various places there to eavesdrop; but now, whoever tries to listen finds a shooting star lying in wait for him."
Jinn possess the power to transport a throne from a distant location to another within mere seconds. They also have the ability to travel to the boundaries of the heavens and return without using any mechanical devices. These facts can be understood from the two verses cited above.
If those who claim to have subjugated Jinn are truthful, they should demonstrate such feats.
Let them command the Jinn to enter the Kolar Gold Fields, retrieve ten kilograms of gold, and bring it back.
Let them command the Jinn to capture George Bush—who ought to be the first among mankind to be eliminated—and bring him back, thereby doing a service to the world. If one had truly subjugated Jinns, performing these feats would be a trivial matter.
These charlatans cannot do any of these things.
The truth is, when they are dragged out and kicked, they cannot use the Jinns they supposedly possess to stop it.
Do not lose your faith and your reason by believing that Jinns are under the control of people who stand with outstretched hands, begging for a single meal or a mere one-and-a-quarter rupees.
