Let's begin with the Islamic concept of Food & drink.
Waste Is HARAM
The Almighty Allah declares in the Holy Quran: Eat and drink but Waste Not; Verily He love not the wasters ( Al-Quran 7:31) The Almighty Allah has given us with the most precious and loving of all things which are our food & drink yet with it, has imposed boundaries on our behavior, meaning that in spite of having the gift of sustenance in our lives, we must appreciate it to its limits by eating and drinking all those Islamic acceptable things but at the same time staying away from wasters. When we talk about Islamic guidelines for our consumption, having moderation and having less at the disposal of our stomachs is encouraged to the greater limits and thus waste of any kind is highly avoided in the eyes of Allah as discarding of the good it. It may seem to be a bit strange that how waste is being encouraged to be avoided through simple measures but truly in Islam even very subtle actions have been instructed not to fall prey to.
Such is when we dish so much food on our plate than needed which we cannot even eat, serving more than we can really afford to eat.
Food is so sacred and preciously given that food is never seen as any less than divine.
Indeed the wasters are the brothers of devils, and devils ever disbelieve in their Lord ( Al-Quran 17:27).
From this very above given Holy Quranic verse you will grasp the magnitude of waste, it should be acknowledged that if it's about any worldly enjoyment, such if eating and drinking then even at this pleasure we must be accountable and stay at a reasonable stage that shows to ourselves, the Almighty Allah, to our brothers in Islam and for the goodness of this very world around us, for even according to The messenger of Allah ( Peace be upon him ), Indeed the squandering of money Haram for you; said Mughira ibn Shu'ba (may Allah be pleased with him): Reported Allah's Messenger said:...( Sahih Al-Bukhari).
Since Muslim cannot afford to spill their food and they must remember Allah through this behavior at all occasions and in every situation.
Youngsters must understand the importance of not waste food.
Prohibitions on Consumption of alcohol and intoxicants
Having alcohol and even having any other drink with an intoxicant has been Islamically forbidden (haram) because if an ingredient in what the person consumes creates a tendency of loosing senses, the person consumes nothing with any intoxication to do.
Allah warns: O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, idols, arrows of divination are an abomination from the work of Satan, so avoid that you may be successful.( Al Quran 5:90).
The following consequence to drinking and intoxicants are explained further on by citing The messenger of Allah;
Satan only wants to engender between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from remembrance of Allah and from prayer.
