Question: You say that God destroyed those who came to destroy His temple, the Kaaba, with small birds and made them nothing. But how can I answer my friend’s question about why such events did not take place during the demolition of the Babri Masjid?
– H. Muqaydeen, Chennai-113.
Answer: Make him understand that this question is wrong for two reasons! Based on the Holy Quran and the words of the Prophet, the Kaaba and other mosques of the world are not equal.
The Kaaba and the sacred area around it have been declared a sacred land by God.
The Holy Quran assures that no one can destroy the Kaaba; nor can foreigners capture it.
And they say, "If we follow the guidance with you, we will be driven out of our land. Have We not made for them a safe sanctuary, a place of refuge? To it is brought the fruits of all things as sustenance from Us, but most of them do not know."
They say, "If we follow the guidance with you, we will be driven out of our land. Have We not made for them a sanctuary, a place of refuge? To it is brought every kind of fruit as sustenance from Us. But most of them do not know." But most of them do not know.
(Quran 28:57)
Do they not see that We have made the Sacred Place a place of safety, while people are being driven away from around them? Do they believe in falsehood and disbelieve in the favor of Allah?
(Quran 29:67)
In it are clear signs and the station of Abraham. Whoever enters it is secure. Pilgrimage to the House is an obligation for Allah upon those who are able to travel. And whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is free from all need of the worlds.

(Quran 3:97)
And when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city a place of safety and protect me and my children from idolatry."
And when Abraham said, "My Lord, make this city a place of safety and protect me and my children from idolatry." (Holy Quran 14:35)
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) foretold that a group of people with short legs would destroy the Kaaba on the Day of Judgment.
(Bukhari 1591, 1596)
No one will be able to destroy the Kaaba before that. It is because of this assurance that Allah sent the birds Ababil to protect the Kaaba. If anyone tries to destroy the Kaaba tomorrow, they will suffer the same fate as the elephant army.
Allah has not given any such assurance to any other mosque. On the contrary, the Holy Quran states that other mosques may be demolished.
They were expelled from their homes unjustly because they said, "Our Lord is Allah." Had Allah not prevented one of the people from another, the monasteries, the churches, the places of worship, and the mosques in which the name of Allah is greatly glorified would have been demolished. Allah helps those who help Him. Allah is the Mighty, the Exalted. (22:40)
If the Babri Masjid or any other mosque is demolished, then the responsibility of preventing it is upon us. We should not expect the birds of prey. No mosque has such a guarantee.
